An Update & an Invitation
Hi all,
First, I wanted to give a heartfelt thank you for reading Highways to Zion. The response has been a tremendous blessing and encouragement. It’s all because of readers like you — your support allows me to keep doing this work.
Here’s a little update on what’s going on in my world, and how I’d humbly ask you to pray for and partner with me:
I. My lovely wife is 35 weeks pregnant with our little one, and we’re getting down to the wire. She’s had some medical issues with her pregnancies that, while not life-threatening, have made even regular routines a challenge throughout. If you would please pray that the LORD would continue in keeping her and our baby safe and healthy, as well as our other kids and adjusting to life rhythms post-birth, I’d be so grateful.
II. As a youth pastor, summer season is upon us. Please pray with me that God’s hand is on our students to draw them into unique and authentic encounter with Christ. We need workers in the special harvest field that is Gen Z (Matt. 9:38), along with fundraising for camp, and more we’re dreaming into.
III. Our music ministry is about to release a prayer album called ABIDE on June 5th. These are a collection of intimate and melodic pursuits of God’s Presence, intended for people to listen and expect to find Jesus. It’s been such a fun process seeing these ideas come to life (recording session pic above), and we can’t wait for you all to hear them. If you’d like to follow us and be ready for the release date, click here or find Canyon Hills Music on any major platform.
IV. I’m currently praying through and (slowly) drafting what will be the first manuscript of a book I hope to publish, though I don’t have a timeline. In the last year, the Holy Spirit has stirred this aspect of personal calling and I’m trying to pick up and pull the threads He’s leaving for me. Could you please pray for me to hear the voice of the LORD in this mission, write what He wants me to communicate, and guide me through the process? This is a dream He’s given me from long years past, and I want to follow Him faithfully into it.
V. If you enjoy Highways to Zion, it would mean the world to me if you invited friends to subscribe and read with us. Finding ways to pure discipleship and proper worship is like going on a journey with a group of other travelers — a Caravan. If you refer friends, you’ll receive benefits that give you special access to Highways to Zion.

VI. Finally, if there is a) something you think I should write about or b) a way I can pray for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I love interacting with you all and want to be a source of support in your apprenticeship to Jesus in whatever way He graces me.
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite thoughts from Lewis on the process of sanctification and life with the Spirit:
“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”
― C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
May the LORD continue to reveal His ways to us in both the gentle and the jarring to conform us to the image of Christ. Peace to you all.
